French

Today was the last lesson for French. Last lesson in the sense that this is the last lesson where the tutor teaches. Next week's lessons will be revision and a final oral examination. Everyone has his/her slot and just has to report for that 10mins. I wonder if it was the 'last lesson' syndrome but today's lesson is seemingly enjoyable and fun. We get the whole class laughing at each others' nonsensical sentence structure, at the funny accent and most important of all, unintended meanings.

For example, 'Je fais du cheval' translates to I do horse-riding. But as for 'Je fais le cheval'...for people with a little creativity and talent for the French language, you get a good laugh. For those with no background, well, it literally translates into 'I do the horse' or 'I eat the horse'. Think about it.

And of course, we get our usual role-plays in class. This time we get to do mass oral practice. The tutor random selects 3 person at a time and we have to start a conversation. Things started off well but it turned scandalous towards the end. Mostly it was due to the insinuation of the tutor no doubt. There was this conversation where this girl asks this guy to see an exhibition at 8.30pm. Doesn't sound incorrect right? But the tutor was quick to point out whether there are still exhibitions at such timings, or is the date for something more fruitful for the pair? Well, that's up to your imaginations. There was another that got twisted to become an affair in Paris. In short, french lesson today was toute super! Till then...
